Demonstrations and rotation system to solve the problem of mushroom surplus were carried out at 5 units with 519 families. Mushroom price is divided into 4 grades depending on quality and the average income at 1,200 baht per family per year with 100 inoculated wood logs. The temperature at 0-5 C is suitable for mushroom storage and the weight loss is around 21 to 25 per cent. Most of the growers accepted shiitake mushroom cultivation as the most beneficial but the intensive reforestation of Ko tree should be initiated for the future plan.
