This method of algal removal is the most efficient technique developed to date Author, mofidied.สาระสังเขป: The production of algal protein as produced in the high-rate oxidation pond by treating domestic sewage is being studied by the Applied Scientific Research Corporation of Thailand in cooperation with the Asian Institute of Technology. Flotation has been studied as a method of removal of algae from the pond water. This process comprises coalescing the unicellular algae by chemical coagulation and entrapment of an air bubble by the resulting algal floc. Removal of the buoyant floc is accomplished at the water surface of the flotation unit. A novel yet simplified technique of dewatering the algal float has been incorporated into the design of the flotation unit which uses a vertical tube, through which the harvested algal float rises and self drains before removal from the unit.
