Six trial casts of varying alloy compositions have been made and exposure test has been conducted on the cane made from those alloys. The three metals of high purity namely zinc, cadium, and lead from the Raylam Battery Company were used in this investigation for the manufacture of zinc can for type 7R dry cell. The results show that the alloy containing 0.07-0.1% cadmium and 0.10-0.13% lead maintains long time luster of the can and enable high yield in production. - Authors.
