The fertilizers were split applied at the commence of the experiment and after each harvest. The study demonstrated that green herbage yields (80 per cent moisture) showed significant increase with increasing fertilizer levels. The plots received 80 and 160 kg/rai of fertilizer yielded 6,661 and 8,182 kg/rai respectively; and were statistically higher than those received 0 and 40 kg/rai which yielded 2,281 and 4,152 kg/rai, respectively. The analysis of soil sample taken prior to and at the termination of the experiment revealed that pH and potassium content were decreased while per cent organic matter and phosphorus content were increased Authors
