Mansf.), Chilli (Capsicum annuum L.), Indian gooseberry (Phyllanthus emblica L.), and Holy basil (Ocimum sanctum L.), were obtained by percolation with aqueous ethanolic solution. At a concentration of 20 µg/ml, all five extracts demonstrated anti-inflammatory activity by inhibiting TNF-alpha secretion, with fingerroot, ginger, chilli, indian gooseberry, and holy basil showing inhibition rates of 54.61%, 53.40%, 50.97%, 48.95%, and 48.14%, respectively. At a higher concentration of 78 µg/ml, three extracts, chilli, holy basil, and Indian gooseberry, were found to inhibit cytokine IL-6 secretion and stimulate cytokine IL-10. Holy basil extract was the most active in preventing adipocyte accumulation on 3T3-L1 adipocytes at a concentration of 78 µg/ml. At a concentration of 20 µg/ml, all five extracts also stimulated collagen production, with holy basil, ginger, Indian gooseberry, chilli, and fingerroot showing stimulation rates of 61.40%, 60.95%, 60.12%, 59.88%, and 59.51%, respectively. Similarly, at a concentration of 20 µg/ml, all five extracts stimulated elastin production, with fingerroot, Indian gooseberry, holy basil, ginger, and chilli showing stimulation rates of 56.99%, 54.68%, 54.68%, 53.99%, and 53.52%, respectively.
