Ltd. totally consumed 1,000,000 kWh of electricity costing about 1.6 million baht per month. Energy losses were found about 20,330 kWh/month, or 2.0 per cent of the total consumption. These losses were due to operating with low-efficiency cooling units, insufficient protective radiation from skyroof of the building, excess number of transformers and skyroof lighting bulbs usedสาระสังเขป: บริษัท นิวเวิลด์ดีพาร์ทเมนท์สโตร์ จำกัด ประกอบกิจการห้างสรรพสินค้า ใช้พลังงานไฟฟ้าประมาณเดือนละ 1,000,000 กิโลวัตต์-ชม. หรือประมาณเดือนละ 1.6 ล้านบาท โดยใช้เป็นพลังงาน ให้แก่ระบบทำความเย็น ระบบแสงสว่าง รวมทั้ง อุปกรณ์การใช้พลังงานไฟฟ้าต่างๆ เช่น พัดลม ปั๊ม และมอเตอร์ เป็นต้น จากการตรวจวัดและวิเคราะห์ พบว่า มีการสูญเสียพลังงานไฟฟ้ารวม 20,330 กิโลวัตต์-ชม. ต่อเดือน หรือประมาณร้อยละ 2 ของปริมาณพลังงานไฟฟ้าที่ใช้ทั้งหมด จึงได้เสนอแนะแนวทางการประหยัดพลังงานให้แก่บริษัทฯ ดังนี้คือ ควรจัดระบบการทำงานของชุดทำความเย็นให้เหมาะสม ซึ่งจะสามารถประหยัดพลังงานไฟฟ้าได้ประมาณ 13,500 กิโลวัตต์-ชม.ต่อเดือน ควรป้องกันความร้อนเข้าอาคารทางช่องแสงบนดาดฟ้า ซึ่งจะสามารถประหยัดพลังงานไฟฟ้าได้ประมาณ 2,440 กิโลวัตต์-ชม. ต่อเดือน และควรรวมภาระการใช้งานในหม้อแปลงไฟฟ้าไว้ที่หม้อแปลงตัวเดียว ซึ่งจะสามารถลดการสูญเสียพลังงานในหม้อแปลงประมาณเดือนละ 3,250 กิโลวัตต์-ชม. นอกจากนี้ หลอดไฟฟ้าที่ติดตั้งใต้ช่องแสงบนดาดฟ้า ควรจัดระบบการปิดเปิดให้เหมาะสม จะสามารถประหยัดพลังงานไฟฟ้าคิดเป็นเงินรวม 25,000 บาทต่อเดือน โดยการลงทุนเพียง 6,000 บาท ซึ่งนับว่าให้ประโยชน์ค่อนข้างมาก. -ผู้แต่ง
