The insulator which cost totally 239,570 baht would reduce the surface heat losses, worth 159,300 baht/yr, or 5 per cent of the cost of total energy input and payback period within 3 years Authorสาระสังเขป: The factories employ two boilers of 1.8 and 2.5 t/hr. producing steam for both boiling log and drying process, and consume 102-102 kW for electric saw mills, water pumps and air blowers. The efficiency of the two boilers were respectively determined at 63 per cent and 66 per cent. A major loss was due to surface heat losses by the boilers themselve and steam pipes as well as by the steam driers.
