The minimal inhibitory concentration (MIC) and minimum lethal concentration (MLC) for vaginal pathogens ; Neisseria gonorrhoeae (Non-PPNG 7 code and PPNG 12 code), normal flora; Candida albicans TISTR 5239, Candida krusei TISTR 5267, Candida glabrata TISTR 5006, Saccharomyces cerevisiae TISTR 5240 and toilet contaminated bacteria ; Staphylococcus aureus TISTR 118, Escherichia coli ATCC 25922, Pseudomonas aeruginosa ATCC 27893, Bacillus cereus DMST 5040 were investigated. The results showed that MIC of Non-PPNG., PPNG., Candida spp. and Pseudomonas aeruginosa ATCC 27893 were 250 to 500 µg/ml, 500 µg/ml to more than 5 mg/ml, 3 to 4 mg/ml and more than 5 mg/ml. while the MLC of these were 250 µg/ml to 2 mg/ml., 500 µg/ml to more than 5 mg/ml, more than 10 mg/ml and more than 5 µg/ml., respectively. "Plygenic", a hygienic pad containing 0.5 % v/v of Phlai oil as an active constituent was developed.
