The effects of Musacid tablets on anti-ulcer in rats and gastrointestinal tract in volunteers, including product safety evaluation were investigated. The acute oral toxicity study (OECD No. 420) of Musacid showed no toxic (LD50 more than 5,000 mg/kg body weight) in rats. The anti-ulcer effect of Musacid tablets at doses of 350, 700 and 1.050 mg/kg body weight was orally given to rats before ulcer induction with cold water immersion for 3 hours. The results showed that the tablets at dose of 1,050 mg/kg bodyweight exhibited significantly anti-ulcer effect in rats similar to that of Ranitidine (150 mg/kg). An open and non blind study of Musacid tablets in male and female healthy volunteers (Group A, n=20) and volunteers with stomach ulcer symptom (Group B, n=21) were investigated by before and after scan detection using PSI-tronic tomography. After taken Musacid (1,050 mg/day) for one week, the results showed that Musacid had no effect to blood system, liver and kidney function and a potential as anti-ulcer in volunteer‘s both groups. -Authorsสาระสังเขป: การศึกษาครั้งนี้ได้พัฒนาผลิตเภสัชโภชนภัณฑ์ป้องกันแผลในกระเพาะอาหาร จากสมุนไพรกล้วยและขิงชนิดเม็ดในชื่อ มิวซาสิด (Musacid). มีวัตถุประสงค์เพื่อดำเนินการศึกษาผลต้านการเกิดแผลในกระเพาะอาหารของหนูขาวและผลต่อทางเดินอาหารอาสาสมัคร รวมทั้งความปลอดภัยของผลิตภัณฑ์. ผลการศึกษาความเป็นพิษเฉียบพลันของผลิตภัณฑ์เม็ด Musacid (OECD หมายเลข 420) พบว่า ไม่มีความเป็นพิษเฉียบพลัน (LD50 มากกว่า 5,000 มิลลิกรัม/กิโลกรัม น้ำหนัก ตัว) ในหนูขาว. ส่วนผลการทดสอบฤทธิ์ต้านการเกิดแผลในกระเพาะอาหารหนูขาวของผลิตภัณฑ์ เม็ด Musacid จากการป้อนผลิตภัณฑ์ขนาด 350, 700 และ 1,050 มิลลิกรัม/กิโลกรัมน้ำหนักตัว ให้ หนู, ก่อนเหนี่ยวนำด้วยการนำหนูแช่น้ำเย็นนาน 3 ชั่วโมง, พบว่า ผลิตภัณฑ์เม็ด Musacid ขนาด 1,050 มิลลิกรัม/กิโลกรัมน้ำหนักตัว และ ranitidine (150 มิลลิกรัม/กิโลกรัมน้ำหนักตัว) สามารถ ต้านการเกิดแผลอย่างมีนัยสำคัญที่ p<0.05 และ p<0.01, ตามลำดับ. ผลการทดสอบทางคลินิกแบบ เปิดและไม่ควบคุม (open and non-blind study) ในอาสาสมัคร 2 กลุ่ม ได้แก่ กลุ่ม A, อาสาสมัคร สุขภาพดี (20 คน) และกลุ่ม B, อาสาสมัครที่มีประวัติโรคกระเพาะอาหาร (21 คน) ที่ได้รับผลิตภัณฑ์ Musacid ขนาด 1,050 มิลลิกรัม (1 เม็ด/3 เวลา ก่อนอาหาร) ต่อเนื่อง 7 วัน, โดยอาสาสมัครทั้งสองกลุ่มได้รับการตรวจวัดผลโดยการสแกนอวัยวะภายในต่างๆ เช่น กระเพาะ อาหาร, ตับ, ลำไส้, ถุงน้ำดี, ไต, หลังรับประทานผลิตภัณฑ์ 1 ชั่วโมงและอย่างต่อเนื่อง 7 วัน เพื่อ เปรียบเทียบกับก่อนรับประทานผลิตภัณฑ์ด้วยเครื่อง PSI-tronic Tomography (Ψ-TT), พบว่า ผลิตภัณฑ์ Musacid มีประสิทธิภาพและปลอดภัยต่อระบบทางเดินอาหาร, ไต และระบบเลือดใน อาสาสมัครทั้งสองกลุ่ม. -ผู้แต่ง
