The bleached yield was 42 percent.สาระสังเขป: Chemical pulp was prepared from bamboo (Thyrsostachys siamensis). The air dried bamboo culms were chipped and pulped by the ammonium sulphite process in a tumbling digestor. The chips were cooked at liquor ratio 3:1 with 24.8 percent ammonium sulphite solution buffered with 3.9 percent ammonia at pH 8.9. The cooking condition was controlled by heating to 170 degree celsius in 2 hours and cooking at 170 degree celsius for 2 hours. The crude pulp was disc refined.
