Preliminary mapping of "land system" and vegetation patterns was carried out on 1:40,000 aerial photographs. Soil and vegetation observations were made at 25 sites in most of the "land system" patterns, and some of the vetation recognized on the air photos. Final mapping and description of the patterns were then made. All phases of the work were carried out under subnormal working conditionsสาระสังเขป: Twenty patterns were recognized and mapped. These are broadly grouped into plains, low hills, shields and cuestas, high hills, and scarps. The patterns are shown on a multicoloured map and are briefly and generally described. As one practical result, the survey demonstrated the usefulness of the land system pattern approach for road construction S.K
