It is found that LPG is the most convenien source of energy; but LPG is the by-product of petroleum refining and hence it is rather expensive. Comparison among LPG, wood and rice hisk, showed that the heat-generating efficiency were 41.43, 27.90 and 31.87 per cent of the heating value of fuel respectively. LPG yield, the highest efficiency, but in practice it is not suitable for use as a source of energy, due to high cost. Rice husk has more efficiency than wood but rice husk can be found only in the rice mill.สาระสังเขป: It is found from the experiment that the lost of oil after distillation is very small if the mint is left air-dried at intervals, up to the miximum period of two months. Hence, there is no hurry in distilling the mint. Authorsสาระสังเขป: The distillation of mint oil by hilltribe portable still took three hours. Using leaves and branches as raw materials makes distilling easy. A 100 kg of mint yielded 2.63 - 3.21 per cent of mint oil, free moisture basis (FMB).
