The technique as developed is to inject the alcohol into the intake manifold by a carburetting system. It has been found that the diesel fuel consumption can be reduced ranging from 52 to 75 per cent depending on the engine's application. However the amount of alcohol replacing the diesel fuel may be in excess to expectations showing inefficiency in combustion.
