The extracts are administered to animals and the reduction of blood sugar determined. A chemical method for blood sugar determination has been worked out for this pharmacological test. The micro-method based on that of Hultman (1959) using o-toluidine in glacial acetic acid as a reagent is found to be rapid and accurate and needs a minimum of material and equipment. Author
