Observation on varieties, weight loss, and keeping qualities of sweet potatoesหัวเรื่อง: Fungus diseases | Keeping quality | Storage | Sweet potatoesสารสนเทศออนไลน์: Click here to access full-text สาระสังเขป: The purposes of this investigation are to understand the fungus, Botryodiplodia sp., that causes the Java black rot of sweet potatoes, and the nature of disease development on the host. Two isolate: of B. Theobromac were used in this study. The growth curves for both isolate grown under various temperature were obtained. The curing temperature for sweet potatoes at 26.7-29.4 degree celsius in found most favourable by the fungus while storing tubers at low temperature is expected to slow down the fungus.สาระสังเขป: The second observation resulted that the percentage of weight loss after one week storage ranged from 4.06 to 24.08 per cent as varieties differ, Net weight loss in the second week is relatively higher than that in the first week. Total weight loss percentage after 2-week storage varied from 13.64 per cent to as high as 50 per cent in some varieties. Smaller roots tended to have a greater weight loss than larger roots. Author.
