The bran was for various periods of time (5-15 minutes), with steam of different pressures (0.3-1.6 kg/cm2 gauge). Depending on the steaming time and the steam pressure, a reduced rate, or a complete prevention, of the hydrolysis of the oil in the stabilized rice bran samples was noticed during storage in open air for a period of 50 days.
