In Thailand cassave leaves is not well-known as animal feed because of its poisonous cyanide content and there is plenty of other competitive agricultural products for feed. The microbial process developed by Microbiology Unit of ASRCT does significantly cut the cyanide content in cassava leaves to a harmless level without the alteration of the nutritious value. Most equipment designed are simple and can be made locally.สาระสังเขป: The purpose of this project is to study for the feasibility of animal feed production from cassava leaves in industrial scale. The result of the survey for the raw material showed that there is sufficient cassava leaves supplied for 12 tonnes per day dried product. For the convenience of the raw material supply, the factory should be located in the area of cassava plantation and near the port for the facile export of finished product.
