Farmers rarely apply fertilizer, thus, low yield and low quality are obvious problems. Pot experiment on growth and development of cashew nut in response to fertilizer application was carried out in CRD. Results of the study 9 months after fertilizer applications showed that an application of NPK (15-15-15)fertilizer25 gm./plant produced the highest values of plant height, stem diameter,canopy width and number of leaves. The highest number of shoots was recorded in treatment with 25 gm./plant of NPK 15-15-15 fertilizer + 500 gm. organic fertilizer/plant. The highest SPAD value was recorded in treatment with 12.5 gm. of NPK 15-15-15 fertilizer + 500 gm. Organic fertilizer/plant. Cashew nut fertilizer field trial was carried in farmer’s field in 3 locations in Tha Pla District, Uttaradit Province. The study was carried out in RCBD with 5 treatments. Results of the study showed that 4 kg./plant of 13-13-21NPK fertilizer with para rubber latex coating produced highest values of plant growth, size of inflorescence, number of inflorescence per square meter, apple sizes and seed sizes, fruit weights as compared to the applications of 13-13-21 4 kg./plant NPK fertilizer filled in porous PVC pipe, filled in tissue bag as well as broadcasting and control treatment with no fertilizer. Application of fertilizer after planting can promote growth and development of cashew trees whereas an application before flowering can increase yield and quality of cashew nuts. However, proper pruning should also be carried out to maximize response to fertilizer application.สาระสังเขป: จังหวัดอุตรดิตถ์มีพื้นที่ปลูกมะม่วงหิมพานต์ (Anacardium occidental L.) มากที่สุดแห่งหนึ่งของประเทศ ส่วนใหญ่ปลูกบนพื้นที่สูง ดินมีความอุดมสมบูรณ์ต่ำและไม่นิยมใช้ปุ๋ย ทำให้มีปัญหาคุณภาพและปริมาณผลผลิตที่ได้ต่ำ การศึกษาการใส่ปุ๋ยมะม่วงหิมพานต์ที่ปลูกในกระถาง วางแผนการทดลองแบบ CRD หลัง ใส่ปุ๋ย 9 เดือน พบว่าการใส่ปุ๋ย NPK 15-15-15 ในอัตรา 25 กรัม/ต้น มีความสูง เส้นรอบวงต้นความกว้างทรงพุ่มและจำนวนใบสูงสุด ในขณะที่การใส่ปุ๋ย NPK 15-15-15
อัตรา 25 กรัม/ต้น + ปุ๋ยอินทรีย์ 500 กรัม/ต้น มีจำนวนยอดสูงสุด การใส่ปุ๋ย NPK 15-15-15 อัตรา 12.5 กรัม/ต้น มีค่า SPAD สูงสุด เมื่อเปรียบเทียบกับการไม่ใส่ปุ๋ย ใส่ปุ๋ยอินทรีย์ 500 กรัม/ต้น และการใส่ปุ๋ย NPK 12.5 และ 25 กรัม/ต้น การศึกษารูปแบบการใส่ปุ๋ยเพื่อปรับปรุงผลผลิตและคุณภาพมะม่วงหิมพานต์ในแปลงปลูกของเกษตรกร 3 พื้นที่ อ.ท่าปลา จ.อุตรดิตถ์ วางแผนการทดลองแบบ RCBD ผลการทดลองการใส่ปุ๋ย NPK 13-13-21 ในอัตรา 4 กิโลกรัม/ต้น พบว่าการให้ปุ๋ยเคลือบยางพารามีการเจริญเติบโตของต้น ขนาดช่อดอก จำนวนช่อดอก/ตารางเมตร ขนาดของผลชมพู่และเมล็ด น้ำหนักผล สูงกว่าต้นที่ไม่ใส่ปุ๋ย การให้ปุ๋ยในท่อพีวีซีเจาะรู ใส่ในถุงเยื่อและการโรยรอบทรงพุ่มการใส่ปุ๋ยในระยะแรกของการปลูกเป็นการส่งเสริมการเจริญเติบโตที่สมบูรณ์แข็งแรง การใส่ปุ๋ย ในระยะก่อนออกดอกเป็นการเพิ่มผลผลิตและคุณภาพของมะม่วงหิมพานต์ ทั้งนี้เพื่อให้เกิดประโยชน์สูงสุดควรมีการตัดแต่งกิ่งร่วมด้วย
