The drier prototype consists of a cross-draft gasification for heating the Longan Dehydrating chamber. From the study of drying fresh Longan of size AA, the prototype can dry fresh Longan within 35 hours using the drying temperature about 60 - 80 degrees celsius. The results from an engineering economics analysis show that the Longan dryer prototype reaches the break-even point when producing dried Longan 1,177.58 kilograms per year. The return on investment is 55.22 percent per year and the payback period is 1.8 years when producing dried Longan 150 days per year and the sale price of the dried Longan is 250 baht per kilogram.สาระสังเขป: โครงการพัฒนาระบบการผลิตลำไยอบแห้งแบบใช้เชื้อเพลิงชีวมวล เป็นงานวิจัยเพื่อพัฒนาเครื่องอบแห้งลำไยทั้งเปลือกแบบถาด ขนาดความสามารถอบผลลำไยสดได้ปริมาณ 100 กิโลกรัมต่อวัน เครื่องอบแห้งต้นแบบประกอบด้วยแก๊สซิไฟเออร์เป็นแบบอากาศไหลตามขวางให้ความร้อนกับห้องอบแห้งลำไย จากการศึกษาการอบแห้งเนื้อลำไยสดขนาด AA ด้วยเครื่องต้นแบบ พบว่าสามารถอบแห้งเนื้อลำไยภายในระยะเวลา 35 ชั่วโมง โดยใช้อุณหภูมิในการอบแห้งที่ห้องอบอุณหภูมิสูง 60 - 80 องศาเซลเซียส ผลการวิเคราะห์ทางเศรษฐศาสตร์วิศวกรรม พบว่าเครื่องอบแห้งลำไยแบบต่อเนื่องต้นแบบ มีปริมาณการผลิตลำไยอบแห้งที่จุดคุ้มทุน 1,177.58 กิโลกรัมต่อปี ให้อัตราผลตอบแทนเงินทุนร้อยละ 55.22 ต่อปี มีระยะเวลาคืนทุน 1.8 ปี เมื่อทำการผลิตลำไยอบแห้งปริมาณ 150 วันต่อปี และราคาขายผลิตภัณฑ์ลำไยอบแห้งอยู่ที่ 250 บาทต่อกิโลกรัม
