The 95% propolis crude extract contained 4.57±0.03% gallic acid and 13.22±0.05% chlorogenic acid, as determined by HPLC. It showed high antioxidant, anti-collagenase, and anti-elastase activity, as well as strong inhibition of nitric oxide production in LPS-stimulated RAW 264.7 cells. The extract also effectively increased collagen production in human fibroblasts. These results suggest that 95% propolis crude extract has potential for reducing eye sagging by inhibiting oxidative stress, collagenase, elastase, and nitric oxide.สาระสังเขป: สารสกัดจากผลผลิตของชันโรงที่มีศักยภาพในการนำมาใช้เป็นสารออกฤทธิ์ในกลุ่มเภสัชโภชภัณฑ์ ยา อาหารเสริม และเครื่องสำอาง มีหลายส่วนด้วยกัน คือ นมผึ้ง ชัน และส่วนของน้ำผึ้ง โดยในแต่ละส่วนจะมีองค์ประกอบทางเคมีคล้ายกัน จากการศึกษาพบว่าสารสกัดเอทานอล 95% ของน้ำผึ้งชันโรง และชันของชันโรงให้ผลในการยับยั้งอนุมูลอิสระ การสลายตัวของคอลลาเจนและอิลาสติน อีกทั้งยังมีประสิทธิภาพในการกระตุ้นการสร้างคอลลาเจนใต้ผิวหนัง และยับยั้งการสร้างไนตริก ออกไซด์ที่เป็นสาเหตุในการเกิดถุงใต้ตา และเซลล์ถูกทำลาย โดยในการพัฒนาผลิตภัณฑ์ ได้คัดเลือกส่วนชันของชันโรง จากการวิเคราะห์องค์ประกอบทางเคมีพบว่าประกอบด้วยสารในกลุ่มแกลลิก แอซิด 4.57±0.03% และคลอโรจีนิก แอซิด 13.22±0.05% ผลิตภัณฑ์ที่ได้อยู่ในรูปเจลใส นอกจากมีสรรพคุณลดถุงใต้ตาแล้ว ยังมีสรรพคุณบำรุงผิว และลดเลือนริ้วรอยด้วย
