The first part was to synthesize zeolite A (gas adsorbent molecular sieve production) from bagasse ash in sugar industry. The optimum condition for zeolite A synthesis was obtained from fusion prior to hydrothermal with bagasse ash: base compound: Al2O3 of 1:3:1 at 550C for 1 hour. The fused precursor was activated by 1M NaOH at 120C for 1 hour. It was exchanged with 1M of chloride solution (Li, K, Mg and Ca) for 24 hours before forming the pellet by wet granulation technique for gas purification (removal of CO2 and H2S). The synthesis biogas consisted of 50% CO2, 40% of CH4, 10% of N2 and 200 ppm of H2S was tested in this work. The results showed that 1M of CaCl2 on zeolite A had the highest efficiency of CO2 and H2S removal (99% removal) for 100L of synthetic biogas. The second part was to use the chitosan impregnation on carbon preparation from sugar industrial waste. It was found that chitosan impregnation on activated carbon had the CO2 adsorption capacity of 385.6 mol/kg adsorbent and chitosan impregnated carbon from bagasse ash had the CO2 adsorption capacity of 360.2 mol CO2/Kg adsorbent. Chitosan impregnated on zeolite 5A and chitosan impregnated on zeolite from bagasse ash had the CO2 adsorption capacity of 236.5 and 243 mol CO2/Kg adsorbent, respectively. สาระสังเขป: งานวิจัยนี้เป็นการศึกษาการใช้ประโยชน์จากของเสียกลุ่มโรงงานผลิตน้ำตาล โดยการนำมาใช้ให้เกิดประโยชน์เพื่อเป็นวัตถุดิบเริ่มต้นการผลิตสารดูดซับก๊าซ ซึ่งแบ่งได้ 2 วิธี ได้แก่ โดยวิธีที่ 1 เป็นการศึกษาหาสภาวะที่เหมาะสมต่อการสังเคราะห์ซีโอไลต์ A จากของเสียโรงงานน้ำตาล โดยเตรียมสารตั้งต้นจากกระบวนการหลอมร่วมกับกระบวนการไฮโดร์เทอร์มอล ในอัตราส่วน เถ้า:สารประกอบเบส:อลูมิเนียมออกไซด์ ในอัตราส่วน 1:3:1 ที่อุณหภูมิ 550 องศาเซลเซียสเป็นเวลา 1 ชั่วโมง และนำวัตถุดิบเริ่มต้นมาทำปฏิกิริยากับสารละลายโซเดียมไฮดรอกไซด์ที่ความเข้มข้น 1โมลต่อลิตรเป็นเวลา 2 ชั่วโมงที่อุณหภูมิ 120 องศาเซลเซียส และถูกนำมาแลกเปลี่ยนไอออนโดยสารละลายคลอไรด์ต่างๆ (Li, K, Mg, Ca) เป็นเวลา 24 ชั่วโมงก่อนขึ้นรูปแบบเปียก เพื่อใช้เป็นสารดูดซับก๊าซ (CO2, H2S) ในก๊าซชีวภาพสังเคราะห์ที่ประกอบด้วย 50%CO2, 40%CH4, 10%N2 และ 200 ppm H2S จากผลการศึกษาพบว่า การแลกเปลี่ยนไอออนบวกกับซีโอไลต์ชนิด A ด้วยสารละลาย CaCl2 1 โมลต่อลิตรให้ประสิทธิภาพการกำจัดก๊าซคาร์บอนไดออกไซด์และก๊าซไฮโดรเจนซัลไฟด์สูงถึงร้อยละ 99 ต่อปริมาตรก๊าซชีวภาพสังเคราะห์ 100 ลิตร สำหรับส่วนที่ 2 คือ การเตรียมคาร์บอนเชิงการค้าและทำการเอิบชุ่มด้วยสารละลายไคโตซาน พบว่า การใช้สารละลายไคโตซานให้ประสิทธิภาพการกำจัดก๊าซ CO2 ได้ 385.6 โมลก๊าซCO2ต่อกิโลกรัมตัวดูดซับ, ถ่านคาร์บอนที่เตรียมจากเถ้าชานอ้อยและเอิบชุ่มด้วยสารละลายไคโตซานให้ประสิทธิภาพกำจัดก๊าซ CO2 360 โมล CO2 ต่อกิโลกรัมตัวดูดซับ, สารละลายไคโตรซานเอิบชุ่มบนผิวซีโอไลต์ 5A มาตรฐานและ สารละลายไคโตรซานเอิบชุ่มบนผิวซีโอไลต์ 5A สังเคราะห์จากเถ้าชานอ้อยให้ประสิทธิภาพการกำจัดก๊าซ CO2 เท่ากับ 263.5 และ 243 โมลก๊าซ CO2 ต่อกิโลกรัมสารดูดซับก๊าซ ตามลำดับ
