In order to test of fuel gas production system, the temperature inside the combustion zone ranging from 950 to 1,100 oC was controlled by adjusting the air flow rate. The feeding rate of rice husk was found to be 15 - 30 kg/hr, the average production rate of fuel gas was 32.35 Nm3/h with an average heating value of 4.5 MJ/Nm3. The average hot gas efficiency of fuel gas production system was 46 %. The heat requirement to dry 500 kg of paddy rice in the range of 25-30% initial moisture content down to 15% was in the range of 199 to 894 MJ depending on the effectiveness of the methods and tools.
