"Pimonplus" is composed of 1% (w/w) phlai oil and 0.1% (w/w) Morus alba Linn. extract. It showed significant antimicrobial efficacy against propionibacterium acnes and anti-inflammatory efficacy. In comparison, the microbiological and pharmacological efficacy with commercial products, efficacy of "Pimonplus" were similar to those of the commercial products. The result from Pimonplus's safety evaluation conducted according to OECD guidelines (acute dermal toxicity, acute dermal irritation and skin sensitisation study) revealed the safety of the product. The flux of terpinen-4-ol ,as active ingredient in plai oil and as main compound in "Pimonplus'' using franz diffusion cells was 3.1161 µg/ml/hr nearly equivalent to initial concentration (3.8 µg/ml) and the pharmacokinetic study showed the AUC of terpinen-4-ol ,Cl value and t½ was 0.604 µg/ml.h , 6.29 mg/h, and 0.5 h. respectively. Using long-term conditions, the stability of the product packaged in glass and stored at 4 ± 2 ºC was preferable than that of packaged in glass and stored at 30 ± 2 ºC. According to the result of antimicrobial efficacy, the product's shelf life was about 4 months. Quality control of "Pimonplus" and its raw materials study revealed the physical, chemical and microbiological properties conformed to Thai FDA regulation and Thai Pharmacopoeia of drug. The efficacy and safety of "Pimonplus" in mild to moderate acne vulgaris, randomized, double blinded, placebo controlled trial was conducted in 60 healthy volunteers and the percentage reduction in total acne lesions in "Pimonplus" group comparable to placebo group at week 4 was 22.13. No adverse events from product treatment were reported. The survey on the consumer's satisfaction trial with "Pimonplus" by sampling the consumer group of 100 persons, aged between 15-25 years, in the Bangkok area was performed. The result of consumer acceptance was at the high to medium level.
