The first was a breeding program that aimed to select good characteristic of Angelica sinensis. The second and third part of this study focused on mutation induced by radiation and chemical for plant selection which could produce more important chemical. The forth part was the plant cell and physiological processes to promote important chemical in Angelica sinensis. The results showed that the breeding program and the plant cell and physiological processes have high efficient to promote many kinds of important chemical in Angelica sinensis. สาระสังเขป: งานวิจัย การศึกษาและพัฒนาสายพันธุ์สมุนไพรตังกุยที่ให้สารออกฤทธิ์สูง ประกอบไปด้วยสี่ส่วน ส่วนที่หนึ่งทำการปรับปรุงพันธุ์โดยการผสมพันธุ์และคัดเลือกลักษณะที่ดีออกมา ส่วนที่สองและสามมุ่งเน้นเหนี่ยวนำการกลายพันธุ์เพื่อให้ได้ลักษณะที่ดีโดยการเหนี่ยวนำด้วยการฉายรังสีและการใช้สารเคมี ส่วนที่สี่เป็นการใช้กระบวนการทางสรีระวิทยา ในการเหนี่ยวนำในการเพิ่มผลผลิตและเพิ่มการสร้างสารสำคัญในตังกุย. ผลการทดลองพบว่าวิธีการผสมพันธุ์และขบวนการทางสรีระวิทยามีประสิทธิภาพในการกระตุ้นการเพิ่มการสร้างสารสำคัญในตังกุย.
