A number of bacterial strains belonging to new species or new genus could be obtained from these areas. Authorsสาระสังเขป: Twenty strains of Gram-positive bacteria were isolated from soil samples of tropical rain forests, collected from the areas in Sakaerat Environmental Research Center, Nakhon Ratchasima Province and Haui Kha Khaeng Wildlife Sanctuary, Uthai Thani Province. Modern taxonomic studies including morphological, physiological, chemotaxonomical, and molecular characterization were employed in identification of bacterial strains isolated. Among the 18 isolates found which belong to Actinobacteria were assigned to genera i.e. Micrococcus, Kocuria, Deinococcus, Tsukamurella, Brachybacterium, Agromyces, Leucobacter, Aureobacterium, Brevibacterium, Arthrobacter and Curtobacterium. Based on phenotypic and genotypic characters, the isolates F-7 and S5-9 which belong to the low G+C content group, were identified as a member of the genera Planococcus and Staphyloccus, respectively.
