The 22 single samples and the other 125 comparable accessions were extracted and their DNA fingerprints identified. The Amplified Fragment Length Polymorphism (AFLP) technique was used with a total of 72 primer combinations to assess the genetic diversity and make the selection of primers which showed the amplified DNA productible and had the clear bands of each medicinal plant. Then, the correlation between the genetic and geographic distances were analysed and classified into corresponding genetic groups. All the AFLP patterns were recorded and put to the database for these endangered species conservation and management purposes. - Authors.สาระสังเขป: The demand for medicinal plants are increasing as people are more fascinated to herbs. However, collection from the forest has become a problem as herbs are in danger of extinction. Also the issues in intellectual property rights in using Thai genetic resourses of medicinal plants have made the study of herbal DNA fingerprints become necessary.สาระสังเขป: ปัจจุบันมีการนำพืชสมุนไพรมาใช้ประโยชน์อย่างกว้างขวางและมีความต้องการเป็นจำนวนมาก ซึ่งอาจทำให้เกิดปัญหาการสูญพันธุ์ของพืชสมุนไพรในอนาคต โดยเฉพาะพืชสมุนไพรที่หายาก ดังนั้นเพื่อป้องกันการใช้ทรัพยากรพืชสมุนไพรของไทยอย่างไม่เป็นธรรม วว. จึงทำการวิจัยลักษณะลายพิมพ์ดีเอ็นเอของพืชสมุนไพรหายากและใกล้สูญพันธุ์ และเปรียบเทียบกับพืชที่อยู่ในวงศ์เดียวกัน โดยเป็นพืชสมุนไพรตัวเดียว 22 ตัวอย่าง และพืชสมุนไพรที่มีคู่เปรียบเทียบอีก 125 ตัวอย่าง ด้วยเทคนิค Amplified Fragment Length Polymorphism (AFLP) จากการตรวจสอบด้วยไพรเมอร์ 72 คู่ไพรเมอร์ คัดเลือกคู่ไพรเมอร์ที่สามารถเพิ่มปริมาณดีเอ็นเอและให้แถบดีเอ็นเอที่ชัดเจนของพืชแต่ละชนิด. สำหรับพืชที่มีคู่เปรียบเทียบ ได้นำแถบดีเอ็นเอมาวิเคราะห์ด้วยโปรแกรม NTSYS pc 2.11 (Numerical Taxonomy and Multivariate Analysis System) และจัดกลุ่มโดยใช้ UPGMA (Unweighted Pair Group with Arithmetic Mean), วิเคราะห์และเปรียบเทียบค่าความสัมพันธ์ของแถบดีเอ็นเอ โดยใช้ค่าสัมประสิทธิ์ของ Jaccard และ Sneath and Sokal เพื่อแบ่งกลุ่มความสัมพันธ์ของพืชสมุนไพร. ทั้งนี้ได้เก็บลักษณะลายพิมพ์ดีเอ็นเอของพืชสมุนไพรไว้ในระบบฐานข้อมูลเพื่อใช้เป็นมาตรฐานเปรียบเทียบและสำหรับอ้างอิงต่อไป. - ผู้แต่ง
