The compressive strength of the mortar joint which is a critical factor for the strength and stability of the final structure was investigated. The results indicate that although the compressive strength of the individual P.S. block is lower than the value specifed by ASTM, the strength of the joint is substantially higher than the ASTM standard value. The reason for this behaviour is attributed to the tongue-and-groove design of the block. Authors
