Establish rural industrial community for herbs.สาระสังเขป: Thailand is located in the tropical region where biological resources are highly diverse and variate. More than 15,000 species of plants anre found in Thailand, among these more than 1,000 have been identified as herbal plants. Hundereds of species of Thai herbs have a great potential in use. The only way to enhance Thai herbs is to promote the produce of herbal products for the every day usage as foods, cosmetics and drugs. This Lamtakhong herbal project encourages people in rural areas to mutually implement programs to cultivate herbal plants and produce them into herbal products for their local usage. Small household plantation of herbs, being the main policy of the proect, but shall be organized as an industrial structuring. Conservation of Biodiversity and sustainable use of components of biological diversity is also an improtant policy.สาระสังเขป: The project has 4 significatant steps : thus.สาระสังเขป: การกระตุ้นเศรษฐกิจถือได้ว่าเป็นนโยบายเร่งด่วนของรัฐ ดังนั้น เพื่อตอบสนองนโยบายของรัฐในการกระตุ้นเศรษฐกิจ วท. เชื่อมั่นว่าสมุนไพรเป็นทรัพยากรธรรมชาติที่มีศักยภาพสูง ที่จะสามารถสร้างรายได้ให้แก่ประชาชนได้เป็นอย่างดี. หากประชาชนรู้จักนำเอาสมุนไพรมาใช้ประโยชน์อย่างกว้างขวางก็จะเกิดการผลิตขึ้น อันจะนำไปสู่การกระตุ้นเศรษฐกิจตามนโยบายของรัฐได้อย่างแน่นอน. สมุนไพรสามารถนำเอามาทำให้เกิดประโยชน์ได้ทั้งเป็นอาหาร, เครื่องสำอางและเป็นยา, ประกอบกับกระแสนิยมของประชากรทั่วโลกกำลังให้ความสำคัญต่อสมุนไพรมากขึ้นอย่างต่อเนื่อง.สาระสังเขป: วท. จึงได้จัดทำโครงการ ส่งเสริมและพัฒนาชุมชนสมุนไพรลำตะคอง ขึ้น โดยมีวัตถุประสงค์ที่จะกระตุ้นให้เกิดการผลิตด้านสมุนไพรในหมู่ประชาชนอย่างกว้างขวางและเป็นมาตรฐานสากล มีการผลิตอย่างเป็นระบบในเชิงอุตสาหกรรมชุมชนในอนาคต. วท. ได้จัดอบรมประชาชนไปแล้ว 500 คน แล้วจัดตั้งเป็นชมรมสมุนไพรลำตะคอง ปรากฏผลสำเร็จเป็นที่น่าพอใจ กล่าวคือมีประชาชนให้ความสนใจและตอบสนองโครงการโดยการสร้างการผลิตขึ้นมาอย่างเป็นรูปธรรม, การผลิตมีแนวโน้มจะขยายตัวขึ้นเรื่อย ๆ อย่างมีนัยสำคัญ, เมื่อการผลิตมีความเด่นชัดและความหนาแน่นกว่านี้ วท. จะดำเนินการใยกลยุทธ์เพื่อกระตุ้นการผลิตในระดับสูงขึ้นต่อไป.
