The doses of V-1 product at 0, 20, 100 and 500 mg/kg body weight were consecutively given to Sprague-Dawley rats for the sub-chronic toxicity testing. Mutagenic studies, Ames' test and micronucleus test were performed using Salmonella typhimurium (TA 97, TA 98, TA 100 and TA 102) and bone marrow of ICR mice, respectively. No toxic signs, clinical blood and urine chemistry changes of the experimental and the satellite could be observed. No severe pathohistological findings could be observed. The highest doses of V-1 product at 50,000 mg/per plate and 2,000 mg/kg body weight have no mutagenic effects on both Salmonella typhimurium and bone marrow of mice. -Authors.Review: การวิจัยครั้งนี้ได้ทำการศึกษาทางด้านพิษวิทยาของ V-1 ในหนูขาวพันธุ์ Sprague-Dawley ที่ได้รับผลิตภัณฑ์ V-1 ขนาด 0, 20, 100, 500 มิลลิกรัม/กิโลกรัมน้ำหนักตัว และศึกษาการก่อกลายพันธุ์ด้วยวิธีการทดสอบเอมส์ใน Salmonella typhimurium (TA 97, TA 98, TA 100 และ TA 102) และการทดสอบไมโครนิวเคลียสในไขกระดูก (bone marrow) ของหนูถีบจักรพันธุ์ ICR. ผลจากการศึกษาในครั้งนี้ไม่พบอาการผิดปกติ, ไม่มีการเปลี่ยนแปลงค่าทางเคมีคลินิกทั้งในเลือดและปัสสาวะอย่างมีนัยสำคัญในหนูทดลองทุกกลุ่มที่ได้รับผลิตภัณฑ์ V-1. นอกจากนี้ยังพบว่าผลิตภัณฑ์ V-1 ขนาด 50,000 ไมโครกรัม/จานเพาะเชื้อและ 2,000 มิลลิกรัม/กิโลกรัม น้ำหนักตัว ไม่มีฤทธิ์ก่อกลายพันธุ์ใน Salmonella typhimurium และในไขกระดูกของหนูถีบจักรตามลำดับ. -ผู้แต่ง.
