The study took place at Chumphon Forage Crops Station, Amphoe Tha Sae, Changwat Chumphon in 1974. It was found out that para grass gave the highest germination percentage being followed by signal and guinea grass respectively. Different treatments of planting materials indicated better germination when kept either under shade with watering or kept exposed in the field, while those kept under shade without watering gave poorer germination. It was also showed that the longer the planting material was kept the poorer the germination percentage.
