These art the separated molasses and the yeast-washed water. The treatment plant for a 10 ton/day plant must be designed to have a capacity of 600 m3/day of waste water which BOD is 7,000 mg/1 or 4,000 kg/day. The treatment alternative should be anaerobic treatment for the first step and aerobic treatment for the second step. From the design criterias such as land requirement, nuisance problems, investment and operating cost, the optimized processes should either be anaerobic lagoon + aerated lagoon or anaerobic digestion + activated sludge. The anaerobic lagoon + aerated lagoon requires 12.5 Rai of land, the investment cost is 1,910,000 Baht and operating cost is 427.60 Baht/day. The anaerobic digestion + activated sludge requires o.5 Rai of land but the investment cost is about 4,723,200 Baht and the operating cost is 1,295 Baht/day. If there is no restriction of land requirement and odor, the anaerobic lagoon + aerated lagoon is the most suitable treatment alternative. - Authors.
