Loss of firmness and shattering of the fruits occurred even when the tested crates were undamaged. Mangosteens packed in wooden crates were more susceptible to drop than to vibration and the fruits were shattered while the crates were broken after a drop test. Authors.สาระสังเขป: The commodity-container interaction of selected fruits and vegetables, namely tomatoes, grapes, bananas, longans, tangerines and mangosteens were studied by simulating test.สาระสังเขป: The interaction of tomatoes, grapes, bananas and their trapezoidal bamboo baskets during vibration resulted in damages of the commodity in the form of loss of firmness, crushing, shattering and berry-dropping. The damages were serious when the packing weight and level were rather high or the commodities were ripe. Drop and vibration caused damages to longans in cylindrical bamboo baskets by shattering and berry-dropping the fruits while deforming the containers.
