Both types of forest show highly distinctive differences in floristic composition, indicating that plants have their particular association. It is believed that species belonging to the same association share mutual interest in environments. Since the elevation along the transect is not remarkably changed, successive vegetation changes are not encountered. Heat relations are unlikely to affect species distribution in the study area. For the dry-evergreen forest, judging from the number of individuals of plant species, it may be generalized that the forest will continue for some time to be a mixed stand, with Hopea ferrea as a major species.
