Among them, frictional heat in an extruder trended to effectively inactivate enzyme lipase in the bran. Bran thus treated could be stored for more than 3 months in polyethylene bag at room temperature (24-33 degree celsius, 54-85 per cent R.H.). The effectiveness of dry heat treatment by using steam jacketed vessel with agitator and moist heat treatment by employing steam chamber depended on time and temperature of inactivating and quantity of bran per batch. Fluidization and oil expeller processes investigated under this study needed modifications and they may not be suitable for rice bran stabilization. Authors
