It lies conformably on the purplish siltstone, micaceous sandstone, and conglomerate of the Phu Kraduang formation of the same group. The sandstones appear whitish grey when fresh, weathering to grey-brown, yellow-brown, or red, with flecks of altered mica and iron stains showing on the exposed surfaces. They are generally medium- to fine-grained. No mineral deposities of economic importance were found except lateritic soils, which are common at several places. S.K
