Any kenaf waste and low grade kenaf fibre (grade D and cuttings) with a stagnant market may be disposed of in pulp production at a lower cost than the imported wood pulp. Establishment of kenaf plantations, integrated with existing or new pulp and paper mills, for both fibre and pulp could stabilize fibre price and maintain high quality and assure a rational and steady income to kenaf growers. It is recommended that immediate plantscale trials at one Thai paper mill be made to assess the feasibility of making pulp and paper from kenaf stalks and particularly from kenaf cuttings. S.K
