The demand of tetracycline is about 80 tonnes per year and most of them were imported in fine chemical form of tetracycline. Since tetracycline is necessary for public and military requirement, ASRCT has been, then, requested by other government agencies to undertake the prefeasibility studies of tetracycline production in Thailand. The results of the study show that the factory should have the capacity of about 100 tonnes per year and the domestic production of tetracycline would be economically feasible if there is a joint venture investments with well manufactured facilities from any foreign countries. - Authors.
