It was maximum in January 1970, which was about 5 years since the beginning of the cycle in this hemisphere. Average seeing was fair. There were more large sunspot groups in the southern hemisphere than in the northern hemisphere. Sunspots in the southern hemisphere were in lower latitudes than in the northern hemisphere. Authors
