Corrugated board boxes were also tested under the same condition for comparison. The plastic basket which used as transport package showed a trend to damage under vertical drop while corrugated board box passed all the tests. The plastic net which used as consumer package could cause a cut and damage to okra. The test result will be used for the development of packaging of okra to suit consumer preference and local availability of packaging materials. Authorsสาระสังเขป: There is an increasing demand of okra (Hibiscus esculentus Linn.) from external market especially Japan. The major packages as required by the Janpaese market are plastic netting bag which can contain 100 g content inside. The plastic netting bag are then packed inside the plastic basket for air transportation. The basket is light and has good ventilating structure.
