Authorsสาระสังเขป: Odour removal of Thai durian was carried out by using granular activated carbon, namely: Kuricoal A, WV-W, WV-H, Hydrasine LS and BPL of the particle sizes 4 x 25, 8 x 30, 6 x 16, 6 x 30 and 4 x 10 U.S. sieve mesh, respectively. Each fruit was covered with cheese cloth sac containing carbon in polypropylene bag and placed in corrugated box. Odour of durian could not be detected within 24 hours when 50 g Kuricoal A, or Wv-V, WV-H was used. Vermiculite block treated with saturated potassium permanganate could not be used to absorb ethylene gas to delay ripening, since the fruit ripened and strong smell was given off within 24 hours.สาระสังเขป: The durian was packed directly in the carton and then the package was wrapped with either A1/paper, or polyester, or cellmetallized A1; odour spreaded out at the position where the flexible film was sealed with gummed tape.
