The pulp with a yield of 64% was bleached to 77% brightness with 5% chlorine as sodium hypechlerite. The bleached pulp with a yield of 58% has better strength than the neutral sulphite pulp of similar mixed raw material. - Authors.สาระสังเขป: Mixed pulping of rice straw and kehaf chips in equal parts by NSSC process with 14% sodium sulphite and 3% sodium bicarbonate gave 58% pulp. The pulp was bleached to 75% brightness with 9% chlorine in C/E/H bleaching sequence. The bleached yield was 46%.สาระสังเขป: Mixed pulping of rice straw and kenaf fibre in a ratio of 3:1 was carried out by mechano-chemical soda process with 12% caustic soda on raw materials in 6:1 liquor ratio at 95 degree celsius for 45 minutes. The pulp yield was 52%. Good strength of the pulp affords its use for liner board and corrugated medium paper.สาระสังเขป: Mixed pulping of Thai kenaf and rice straw by neutral sulphite process (NSSC) and mechano-chemical soda process was investigated. One part of kenaf bast mixed with two parts of rice straw was pulped by NSSC process with 14% sodium sulphite and 3% sodium bicarbonate at 160 degree celsius for 2½ hours. The process gave 64% yield. The pulp was bleached to 71% brightness with 5% available chlorine as hypochlorite. The bleached pulp with yield at 52% has tearing strength with tear factor 106.
